Admissions Requirements
Admission is for Fall semester only. All required material must be postmarked by the deadline. The deadline for Fall '08 was May 1, 2008. Applications for Fall '08 are no longer being accepted.
Applicants to the Professional Masters in Biotechnology Program must have:
- A baccalaureate (BS) degree in a biological science, chemistry, pharmacy, medical laboratory science, nursing, chemical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Pre-requisites for the molecular biotechnology or pharmaceutical biotechnology tracks include at least two semesters of undergraduate courses in each of the following: biology, chemistry, and calculus.
- Pre-requisites for the engineering biotechnology track include at least one semester of undergraduate courses in each of the following: biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, differential equations, chemical engineering calculations or material and energy balances, and chemical engineering transport processes plus at least two semesters in calculus.

Chemical Engineering Transport Processes & Operations 1 (CHEU310) - Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores submitted; a GRE Subject Test is optional. GRE exam must have been taken in the last five years.
International applicants must
- demonstrate proficiency in writing and speaking English with a minimal TOEFL score of 600 for paper-based, 250 for computer-based, and 100 for the Internet-based format. International students residing in countries where English is not a first language are required to take the TOEFL. International applicants residing in countries where English is a first language are required to take the TOEFL if their native language is not English. The TOEFL requirement is waived for international applicants who hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from a US institution.
